I studied at Cardiff university in the early 60’s qualifying as an Optometrist. Then with my husband Doug we started a group of 23 Opticians in UK. These successful stores were sold in 1980 when we moved to Guernsey to be near my family. In 1974 we started a new optical business firstly in Guernsey using a Joint Venture partnership model. Specsavers is now market leader in 10 countries with 2000 stores and 45 million customers. Manufacturing and Hearingcare is part of Specsavers business, as is caring for health of eyes in partnership with RNIB and our new eye clinics “New Medica“. I work full-time ensuring the Specsavers culture gives the best customer care exceeding expectations.
