“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” - Benjamin Franklin
I was part of the group of teachers, lecturers and parents who campaigned last year against Selection. I’ve been teaching for 22 years but got into the profession totally by accident! I thought I’d applied for a different course and was encouraged by the Education professor who was interviewing me to try teaching. Here I am all these years later. Over this time I’ve spent 6 months teaching at the University of Lapland in Finland, 2 years teaching children with social, emotional and behavioural problems and the rest of my career teaching 4-11 year olds in primary schools. It’s a wonderful profession!
