The Revd Linda Le Vasseur

He said not; 'Thou shalt not be tempted, thou shalt not be travailed, thou shalt not be dis-eased'; but he said; 'Thou shalt not be overcome.'

I was born in Bow, London and I grew up in Ilford Essex. I married my husband in 1973 and we came to live in Guernsey two years later. At that time I was a teacher of religious education, with English as my secondary subject. I was a lay minister in the Church of England for about eight years before offering myself for ordained ministry in 1992 and ordained in 1994. I Was the first woman priest in Guernsey. I have served in a number of parishes on the island as well as doing some chaplaincy work at The King Edward VII hospital. I became Lead Chaplain at the PEH in 2015. It’s not been an easy path and it’s only my strong sense of calling that has sustained me.
